Mapping the Delaware Diaspora: Cliveden & the Chew Family

Join us online on Wednesday October 29 as we learn about Cliveden, the Chew family, and their ties to Delaware. Cliveden, originally built as a country home for attorney Benjamin Chew in 1767, was home to seven generations of the Chew family. Benjamin had ties to Delaware through property and as its representative in legal matters.

Cliveden Education Director Carolyn Wallace will introduce new research about the history at Cliveden in this Zoom presentation.

Mapping the Delaware Diaspora is an online series with cultural heritage professionals and researchers designed to expose audiences to research methods, new stories of Delawareans, and the wealth of resources available to them in museums, libraries, and archives.

Zoom link will be provided via email after registration. Register here.
