City Theater Company presents CHICAGO The Musical
In “Roaring Twenties” Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap....until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess," Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune, and acquittal. Expect a whole lotta grit and a little bit of glam when the beloved musical CHICAGO rolls into The Black Box at The Delaware Contemporary from December 12-20.
With a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander, and lyrics by Ebb, CHICAGO first took the world by storm in 1975 and has endured ever since. CHICAGO is based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, with a script adaptation by David Thompson, and presented here by arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
Presented by City Theater Company.
