Re-enactor Trish Chambers explores the continued appeal of Jane Austen to readers who immerse themselves in the period of the British Regency era through costume, manners, food, and social gatherings. Explore how Jane Austen portrayed society in her major works, how the personalities of her heroines developed over the span of her novels and how events and experiences of her personal life are reflected in her writing. Discuss what a woman's life was like in the Regency era, what was expected of her and what options were open to her. Performed in Period Costume. Limited seating, pre-register.
