Stanley Kubrick's The Shining (1980) is a masterpiece of psychological horror that transforms Stephen King's novel into a chilling meditation on isolation, madness, and violence. The film follows Jack Torrance, a struggling writer who takes a job as the winter caretaker of the remote Overlook Hotel, bringing along his wife Wendy and psychic son Danny, only to descend into homicidal insanity as malevolent supernatural forces take hold.
