Writers Workshop: Telling Your Story: Writing Toward Your Voice

New for 2026! The Everett, Inc. is excited to announce a new opportunity for writers and storytellers!

Telling Your Story: Writing Toward Your Voice

This monthly writing series is about returning to your own voice, and learning to trust it. It's for anyone who’s ever said, "I’ve been meaning to write," but life, work, shame, or fear got in the way. Whether you're sitting with a story you've never told, or simply craving a space to write without pressure, these sessions are designed to feel more like an exhale than an assignment.Together, we’ll explore how to write from a place of authenticity. Through writing prompts, optional sharing, and conversation, we’ll begin to chip away at the silence around the stories we’ve carried. No experience necessary, just a willingness to show up, breathe, and begin. This is a space for reflection, release, and remembering: everyone has a story- it’s just a matter of having the space and tools to tell it.

Bio: Eritria Pitts is a Telly Award–winning story producer, writer, and performer whose work lives at the intersection of narrative, culture, and personal truth. A New Orleans native with Eritrean roots, Eritria began her storytelling journey as a journalist with Al Jazeera English and Al-Arabiya before transitioning into comedy, screenwriting, and coaching. Her stories- equal parts heart, humor, and hard-won insight- have been featured on NPR and festival stages across the country. Whether on the page, the mic, or behind the scenes, she helps others excavate the stories that shape them, so they can tell them with clarity, courage, and intention.
