Black and White Film Photography
Students will learn to develop and print their own black and white photographs in the darkroom using film. Students will work towards developing personal style through artist study as well as discussions of creative composition, exposure, and other artistic principles. Optional assignments and prompts will be given weekly to deepen their study. An additional $20 fee covers chemical use only, due to the instructor on the first day of class. Students are responsible for their own film and paper costs. *Please note students should have a working film camera. Instructions on basic camera operation will be given on an as-needed basis. The instructor asks students to bring a completed roll of black and white film and their camera on the first day of class. Ilford HP5 400 Black and White Film is the preferred roll of film. Ages 18+
