The Lewes Public Library Spoken Word Society presents The Dan Meyer Choir Sings Love Songs of the Presidents.

The Dan Meyer Choir helps you multitask this holiday weekend by celebrating Valentine's Day and Presidents Day in one concert: The Love Songs of the Presidents! Come hear the love poetry and letters of former U.S. Presidents set to four-part choral music in this one-of-a-kind event, including the words of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Delaware’s own President Joseph Biden. You will laugh, cry, and be scandalized by the words of these former commanders-in-chief. The Love Songs of the Presidents has been a Presidents Day tradition in Baltimore since 2015 and we are thrilled to bring this joyous event to Lewes in 2026.

This program is part of Lewes 250, a commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary, honoring our town’s rich past and bright future. Lewes 250 brings neighbors, visitors, and local organizations together in celebration of the “First Town in the First State.”

Each individual attending in-person must register to reserve a seat. Do not list two people on one registration.

The Lewes Spoken Word Society (LSWS) celebrates the tradition and artistry of oral storytelling through lectures, performances, discussions, demonstrations, and other publicly-shared experiences. The LSWS is partially funded by the generous support of Ron Collins and Susan Cohen and the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
