Art in Action: Milk Paint Bowls
Join us for a welcoming folk art workshop where creativity and environmental stewardship go hand in hand. Led by a passionate artist and beekeeper who is looking for new ways to decorate her hives and honey vessels. Together, we’ll reflect on the ways our actions shape the natural world and discover how traditional crafts can foster a deeper connection to our environment and each other.
This gathering invites you to explore the timeless beauty of folk arts. Come and decorate your own unique wooden vessel using natural, non-toxic milk paint. In this hands-on session, you’ll learn about milk paint’s history, traditional uses, and its unique properties – its gentle ingredients make it an ideal choice for kitchenware and the earth.
Participants will create functional art pieces that celebrate community, sustainability, and heritage. Guidance will be provided on how to decorate your vessel with folk examples and simple instruction. Guests will also be informed as for the care of decorated vessels, honoring the semi-permanent nature of milk paint and ensuring their lasting beauty in everyday use.
All are welcome; no prior experience required, just an openness to creativity and a love of nature.
No refunds will be issued for registration cancellations made less than 48 hours before class time. Register online.
