Trumpet players across Delaware and beyond are encouraged to attend the University of Delaware's Trumpet Day on March 14! This is an exciting, hands-on event designed for trumpet students and players of all ages and skill levels. Participants will play together in large ensembles, take part in engaging masterclasses and work closely with guest artist Marcus Grant and UD trumpet faculty member Brianne Borden.
The day will also celebrate the strength of the UD trumpet community with a special alumni ensemble conducted by Professor Emerita Heidi Sarver. UD Trumpet Day is designed to build community, spark curiosity and inspire trumpet players through shared music-making, mentorship and learning at every level.
The School of Music will offer activities designed specifically for developing players as well as sessions for more advanced musicians. Masterclasses may be led by guest artist Marcus Grant, UD trumpet students and experienced trumpet educators from the region.
The Junior Trumpet Ensemble will perform music arranged especially for this event. Students who register in advance will receive PDF parts by email so they can arrive prepared. During rehearsals, UD trumpet music education majors will sit side by side with younger students to provide guidance, encouragement and playing tips.
To register and more information, please visit the Trumpet Day webpage.
Activities will run from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will take place on the Newark campus at the Roselle Center for the Arts and the Amy E. Dupont music building.
