I HEAR AMERICA SINGING! A 250th Birthday Celebration
CoroAllegro, a 32-voice auditioned chamber ensemble, under the direction of David Simmons, now celebrating its 39th season, will present a concert reflecting on the American story — its founding ideals, its struggles for equality and justice, and its enduring hope. Through music that spans centuries and voices that speak to freedom, responsibility, and resilience, the chorus will explore what America has been — and what it still aspires to become. Concert includes works by Leonard Bernstein, Gwyneth Walker, Andre Thomas, Dan Forrest, Jake Runestad, Carol Barnett, Billy Taylor, Rollo Dillworth, Brian Foy and Kyle Pederson. Accompanied by collaborative pianist Julie Nishimura and guest instrumentalists, it will be an evening that will lift your spirits as we lift our voices in song!
