Karoline Wileczek is an artist who combines expressive intuitive approaches with real world nameable forms in her paintings. Each painting is sourced from memories of living- felt experiences and encounters with nature. Some forms stay energetically in a state of potential and sometimes they are overlayed with patterns reflecting a desire for peaceful stillness. When out in nature she collects natural objects to contemplate. These ignite artistic impulses. A pinecone becomes transformed into a location of dreams, sprouting thought forms - out pops stored observations of flowers or butterflies found on the water’s edge. “Tending the Biome” explores themes of transformation and growth by depicting labyrinthian and arboreal impressions as well as flora and fauna in wild, domestic and imagined settings. This tending is reflective of both interior and exterior life. Karoline has walked Labyrinths for a few decades now and they have been great for peaceful prayerful contemplation and idea growing. “Every time I inhabit the labyrinth space, the blending of the inner and outer world always astounds me”. The paintings here mark the first time they have entered her pantheon of forms. Contact: wileczek@aol.com
