Student Art Show

The Annual Student Show at Mispillion Art League will be on display April 21-May 9. This collaboration with the Milford School District showcases artwork made by students in local public school art classes.

The Annual Student Show was started by Mispillion Art League members Vicki Hudson, a public-school teacher, and artist Sarah Gallagher in 2004 to coincide with Milford's Bug & Bud Festival. Through the exhibit, the league aims to promote art education in public schools by inviting the community to see firsthand how creativity enriches students' academic experiences.

Volunteer and former board member, Cathy Walls states, "MAL is committed to supporting arts education because a quality arts curriculum builds learning skills, increases academic performance, and provides opportunities to reward the skills of children who learn differently."

Visit the gallery to see artwork by upwards of 300 students from Milford Senior High School, Milford Central Academy, Banneker Elementary, Lulu Ross, Mispillion Elementary, and Morris Early Childhood Center. Awards have been given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place to each school, plus one Best in Show. Be sure to stop by during the Bug and Bud Festival in downtown Milford on Saturday, April 25.

Mispillion Art League is open Tuesday-Saturday 10-5, and is located at 5 N. Walnut Street, Milford, DE 19963. Learn more about MAL at www.mispillionarts.org.
