Color Mixing with Transparent Watercolor

Color mixing using transparent watercolor. Participants will create sunset silhouette paintings.

Explore the magic of watercolor in this 3-hour workshop, suitable for beginners as well as experienced painters.

First half: Participants will learn about (or review) the color wheel. Each participant will mix the full color spectrum using the 3 primary colors.

Rest of session: Focus on the “wet on wet” technique of color mixing. Participants will create several sunset-colored skies using “lifting” techniques. These colored skies will later be used as the background for finished silhouette paintings.

All materials provided.

Each participant will also receive a mat for displaying one of the finished paintings.

Information sheets and supply lists will be available for those who might want to further explore this fascinating medium.
