Yorklyn Storytelling Festival Inc.
Our organization is a 501c3 “That’s All About Literacy." The festival provides a focal point for literacy in the local area. We seek to develop a “branded" non-profit platform that will enable us to extend literacy programming throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Further, we intend to tie our programs directly into the local public, private, and parochial schools, in addition to the charter and home school communities. We have a particular interest in bringing such programs to Title 1 schools, enabling us to impact the underserved.
The literacy of language, reading, writing, and communication...cultural literacy...artistic literacy: All of these are well-represented in the Storytelling Art. That’s why it is so incredibly important to promote these skill sets in our local community. Proceeds from the Yorklyn Storytelling Festival go to support local libraries and literacy organizations.
