Old Swedes Church is a venue for concerts and lectures. Most programs are presented by Trinity Episcopal Parish, Wilmington, of which Old Swedes is a part. Presentations take place within the church and also in the church's outdoor amphitheater.
Old Swedes Church was built in 1698 to serve the Swedish Lutheran community that remained in the English colony of Pennsylvania. Old Swedes is one of the few surviving remnants of the New Sweden Colony in the Delaware Valley, and one of the oldest structures in Delaware. Consecrated on June 4, 1699, the parish was incorporated into The Episcopal Church in 1791. Old Swedes Church and burial ground became constituents of First State National Historical Park in 2013
