Tri-County Concerts Association is a nonprofit organization based in Wayne, PA whose mission is to promote the performance and appreciation of the highest quality chamber music in Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties. It is one of the oldest chamber music series in the Greater Philadelphia region and the only one run by an independent community board.
For over eighty years, we have presented four to five concerts each season. Our chamber music series now focuses primarily on emerging artists. We make these fine musicians widely accessible to our local community at very affordable prices (with discounts for seniors and free admission for students), while providing our artists professional exposure and support at a critical time in their careers. Our audiences learn about the music directly from the artists and receive further background information from us. We began to offer virtual concerts during COVID and still present them as an additional service to those members of our community who find it difficult to attend live performances; our virtual concerts are offered on a pay-what-you-wish basis.
We also organize an annual Youth Festival to identify and reward young talent, and encourage them to develop into adult performers and audiences. Students in grades 6-12 who reside in Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties are given an opportunity to audition before and receive critiques from professional musicians in a wide variety of instruments. The winners perform before a discriminating audience at the annual winners' recital.
