2nd Saturday Poets
The 2nd Saturday Poets, Delaware’s longest continuously running poetry reading, currently presents at Gallucio’s Italian Restaurant at 1709 Lovering Ave., Wilmington, DE 19806, sometimes retreating to Zoom when that venue is preempted. Inaugurated at O’Friel’s Irish Pub on World and National Poetry Day, October 15, 1983, the reading has cycled through a number of venues including Smokey’s, Wild Child, Lantana Cafe, Loma Café, Shenanigan’s, and The Jackson Inn. Usually, there is a paid featured reader and an open mic. A $10 donation is requested from patrons.
