The Buzz Ware Village Center is located in the heart of the historic Village of Arden, a utopian artists’ enclave. Its mission is to provide a place for gathering that will foster and encourage an ongoing sense of community. This building functioned as the Arden School from 1947 to 1973. It was recognized for being racially integrated two years before the U. S. Supreme Court decision barring segregation. In 1973 it was renamed in memory of Hamilton “Buzz" Ware, a respected community leader and an excellent graphic designer. Recently a new roof and windows gave the Buzz an environmental and fashionable face lift. Special fund raising events to complete the building renovations invite both Ardenites and residents of Northern Delaware to socialize together while contributing to a worthy cause.
“The Buzz" is proud to offer weekly art, tai chi, and giqong classes. Each month there is a free Family Movie Night and Coffee House. Room rentals are available for meetings, classes, parties, and exhibits. Rental information is available on the website. The Buzz Ware Village Center is located just off Exit 10 (Harvey Road) of I-95. It is accessible by Dart Bus Routes 11 and 38. Search Facebook for Buzzware Village Center to join Facebook Group.
