Coffee House Concert Series

On November 21, Delaware Friends of Folk will continue their coffeehouse concert series at Earle Teat Music, 3098 N. Dupont Hwy, Dover, Del. Doors open at 6 pm and admission is $7 for members of Delaware Friends of Folk, $10 for non-members, teens are half-price, and those 12 and under are admitted free. Fresh-brewed coffee, baked cookies, and other snacks will be available. The show starts at 6:30 and seating may be limited.

The evening will feature Lewes-based singer-songwriter Bob Cannon. “Life has a way of throwing you curveballs. But somehow through the twists and turns of everyday living, I keep making music. As a singer-songwriter. . .I’ve been making the rounds of local music spots, teaching lessons in person and on Zoom, and toiling away in the studio on an upcoming collection of original tunes. It’s my latest stop in what’s been a circuitous career path. I was raised in Charlottesville and Wilmington, and enjoyed lengthy stays in New Hampshire, Florida and New Jersey, with a stint in Nashville thrown in. Along the way, I’ve also raised a family and enjoyed a day job writing about music for magazines. Now I'm busy at work on my fourth album for Rivanna Records, called Talk Talk Talk. It's going to be chock full of songs about matters of the heart, how humans communicate—or how they don't.”

Opening the evening will be local singer-songwriter Mike Miller. Mike’s songs reflect his life experiences living on the edge of Appalachia and the empty northern plains. He plays solo and fronts the well-known cowboy hippie band Mother’s Highway Junction. Mike was awarded a Delaware Division of the Arts Artist Fellowship in 2023.
