First State Harmonizers Chorus is an extraordinary group of gentlemen who
gather together in celebration of the art form known as barbershop music.
We are a chapter of Barbershop Harmony Society. Our director is the
talented and enthusiastic Sharon Ehrisman who teaches and inspires us to
reach new levels of achievement with each rehearsal and performance. We can be heard throughout the year, singing for civic and charitable
organizations, private groups, schools, churches, community events, and
fundraisers. We love to educate and entertain by presenting this American
art-form by putting on our own musical events each year for the community,
our friends, and families. We deliver "singing telegrams" on Valentine's
Day, and in an effort to stay committed to singing and performing at the
highest level possible, we participate each year in a regional contest with
choruses throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
First State Harmonizers Chorus is more than just an a cappella ensemble, it
is a brotherhood. We enjoy getting together each week, and sharing
fellowship as well as great singing in four-part harmony.
If you like to sing, you're invited to visit First State Harmonizers Chorus
and find out more. Sitting in on one of our rehearsals is the perfect way to
learn more about us, and what we can do for you! You'll have the
opportunity to observe, hear, and if you'd like, you may join us on the
risers and sing four-part, a cappella harmony. We incorporate various kinds
of learning media, particularly, "part specific learning CD's. Reading
music is not a prerequisite to participate in this art-form. Please visit
us to experience the music, fellowship and fun for which First State
Harmonizers Chorus is known!
We Rehearse every Monday evening at the Avenue Methodist Church. 20 North Church St., Milford, DE 19963.
