An American Tail
Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the animated classic An American Tail, a story of hope, courage, and family.
Set in the late 19th century, the film follows the Mousekewitzes, a family of mice who leave their homeland in search of freedom and a better life in the United States. During the voyage, Fievel, the youngest of the family, is separated from his loved ones and finds himself alone in a strange new country. With determination and the help of new friends, he sets out to find a way to reunite with his family.
This film is especially fitting for the American 250 celebration as it is, at its heart, an emigration story. It reflects the experiences of the many families who came to America seeking freedom and opportunity, and it reminds us that the nation's story has been shaped by those journeys.
