Light and darkness meet in a program of striking contrast and emotional range. Nokuthula Ngwenyama’s Primal Message opens with urgency and purpose, leading into Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante, a work of luminous balance and refined dialogue between violin and viola. Tchaikovsky’s Sixth Symphony, the “Pathétique,” brings the evening to a close with raw emotion and profound depth. It is a journey that begins in clarity and ends somewhere far more searching.
