NSO Chamber Concert featuring Requiem for 9/11

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the events of 9/11, the NSO in collaboration with Music With A Mission will present an unforgettable evening embracing the full range of human emotions. Our own maestro, Simeone Tartaglione’s composition “Improviso on Giuseppina Mira’s ‘E fu Notte’” is based on a poem about the aftermath of the tragedy and the human response. His wife, the internationally known Alessandro Cuffaro, will perform. Another local composer, conductor, and teacher, Wilson Somers, will conduct his acclaimed “Requiem for 9/11.” This powerful piece merges orchestra, chorus, and soloists with spoken texts from Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The whole concert reflects shared grief, but also hope in the face of upheaval. Some of the proceeds from it will be donated to Music With A Mission – a Delaware non-profit that benefits those in need locally and nationally. Please experience this with us!
