CAMP Rehoboth Chorus - I Hear America Singing

The CAMP Rehoboth Chorus presents "I Hear America Singing," a musical revue honoring the 250th anniversary of America, Jun. 19 - 21, 2026. The concert will celebrate 250 years of courage, community, and the American spirit.

The program will celebrate the foundations of America. Songs include “Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears,” where audiences see the Statue of Liberty through the eyes of a fifteen year old Irish immigrant. With “This Is the Dream,” listeners are reminded of the courage, the hopes, and the promises of America inspired by Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. Chorus singers salute the Armed Forces for their service, while also recounting the ravages of war with “When Johnny Comes Marching Home” and “One Tin Soldier.” Songs of protest and promise include “This Land is Your Land” and “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

The concert title is taken from Walt Whitman’s poem by the same name and celebrates “America” by both Neil Diamond and West Side Story. More than just a patriotic exercise, this concert explores all of American history — the struggles, the victories, and the hope for a future “Bound for the Promised Land.”

Artistic Director Doug Yetter will be accompanied by David Zipse and the CAMP Rehoboth Chorus band.
