Chapel Street Players opens its 92nd season with POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive, Selina Fillinger’s hilarious and outrageous Broadway political farce.

When the president turns a public relations nightmare into an international crisis, the seven brilliant, overworked and underappreciated women surrounding him are left to clean up the mess. What follows is a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud journey through the halls of the White House as they risk their careers, their dignity and possibly their freedom to keep the country from falling apart.

Originally produced on Broadway in 2022 with a star-studded cast including Vanessa Williams, Rachel Dratch, Julianne Hough and Lea DeLaria, POTUS comes to Newark just weeks before the midterm elections — because in the middle of another busy political season, we could all use a reason to laugh at politics.

POTUS runs Oct. 2–10 at Chapel Street Players, 643 Creek View Road, Newark. The production contains strong language, adult humor and mature themes.
