American Spirit, Coastal Soul: A Delaware 250 Salute

A Program of American classics and new music from Delaware composers, including:

• Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man,


• World Premiere: Coastal Delaware Suite, composed by SODELO's own Brian Cox and including movements dedicated to the spirit of Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach, and Bethany Beach.


• Suite from United Sounds of America: a significant work by Mark Hegarty and featuring Delaware’s Twin Poet Laureates, Al Mills and Nnamdi Chukwuocha, and acclaimed soprano Makeda Hampton.


• On the Nature of Daylight, by Max Richter


• Band of Brothers, by Michael Kamen


• The Stars and Stripes Force, by John Phillip Sousa


• The U.S. Armed Forces Medley, and


• The Star Spangled Banner
