Derek Piotr: Creating a Folk Music Archive
Meet Derek Piotr: folklorist, researcher, and performer who has collected over 1500 recordings preserving folk ballads, hymns, tales, poems, children’s songs, and interviews. Derek will walk audience members through the process of journeying everywhere – from Iceland to Utah (and Delaware!) – to record these musical memories as a legacy for researchers and future generations. Feel free to share relevant musical memories with this archivist.
This program is in collaboration with Delaware Friends of Folk. Limited seating; first come, first served.
