Shakespeare in the Gardens
Celebrate the end of summer with an afternoon of wit, wonder, and garden discovery as Delaware Shakespeare presents The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) (revised) (again), a rapid-fire comedic romp that barrels through all 36 of Shakespeare’s plays in under 100 minutes and one intermission. Expect endless physical comedy, pop-culture references, and audience interaction as tragedies, comedies, and histories collide in one delightful performance.
This immersive experience invites you to wander through the gardens before settling in for an uproarious performance under the open sky. Upon arrival, guests are welcome to roam freely, taking in the beauty of the gardens through pre-performance tours and activities designed to test your knowledge of Shakespearean botanicals, a playful nod to the Bard’s own love of the natural world.
