Did you know that between 1963 and 1975, NASA sent dozens of professional painters and illustrators to Cape Canaveral, Florida; Huntsville, Alabama; Houston, Texas; and even aircraft carriers in the Pacific Ocean to create work responding to history in the making? Hear from Lynn Herrick Sharp Curatorial Fellow Dorothy Fisher about the evolution of the little-known government art program, the subject of her in-progress dissertation.
