"Citizen Photographer" Exhibit

What does it mean to be Delawarean at the nation's 250th anniversary? The 24 images featured in Citizen Photographer respond to this question, first posed by the Delaware Art Museum in early 2026.

Citizen photographers from across the state submitted work reflecting their perspectives on civic identity, individuality, shared needs, and the humanity of Delaware and its residents. This juries exhibition highlights the power of citizen photographers to shape how we see ourselves, and one another.

Photographers represented in this exhibit include: Alecea Balkum, Yakime Akelá Brown, Leah Burcat, Bill Crnkovich, Nicolas Del Pesco, Alexandra Duprey, Robert Farmer, Edward Goldenberg, Christine Harper, Susan Jordan, Gary Knox, Torrey Malek, Becca Mathias, Meghan Newberry, Elaine Orbino, Leslie Sinclair, Victoria Smith, Douglas Strande, Jea Street, Mercedes Watson, John Williams, Chalila Wilson, Joan Winchester, and Aaron Wright.

Citizen Photographer was developed by the Delaware Art Museum. This exhibition is supported by a grant from the Delaware Division of Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The Division promotes Delaware arts events on DelawareScene.com.

Viewing hours are Monday – Thursday, 10:00 AM–8:00 PM; Friday, 10:00 AM–5:00 PM; and Saturday, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM.
