Rising Tides: An Exhibition by Dianna Poindexter

Join us this August for CAMP Rehoboth’s upcoming exhibition, Rising Tides: An Exhibition by Dianna Poindexter. The exhibit will feature a variety of Poindexter’s expressive and impactful works.

Dianna Poindexter is a contemporary expressionist painter whose work is inspired by the beauty, power, and constant change found both in nature and in the human experience. Through expressive brushwork, rich color, and a strong sense of movement, she creates paintings that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and discover their own connection to the stories within them.

Working primarily in environmentally friendly water-soluble oils and acrylics, Poindexter draws inspiration from the Atlantic coastline, tidal marshes, rolling waves, weathered boats, and moments that have shaped our collective history. Her work explores themes of transformation, resilience, the ever-changing beauty of the coast, and social justice.

Throughout her work, the idea of “rising tides” emerges as both a natural and human metaphor. Just as the tides continually reshape the shoreline, the forces of change shape our lives, challenging us, bringing us together, and moving us forward. Whether reflected in nature or the human spirit, her paintings celebrate the beauty, strength, and shared experiences that connect us all.

Originally from Scottsdale, Arizona, Poindexter earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Moore College of Art & Design in Philadelphia before making the East Coast her home more than 30 years ago. She now lives and works in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, with her wife, Margo, where the rhythms of the coast continue to inspire her creative practice.

Poindexter’s paintings have been exhibited in galleries throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware and are held in private collections across the United States.
