Talk & Film Premiere - Caesar Rodney’s Ride: The Story of Delawareans and the Declaration of Independence
What did Delaware’s leaders risk on the eve of American independence? This First Saturday program begins with a shortened presentation of Independence or the Bayonet, exploring Delaware’s role in the critical days leading up to July 1776 through the perspectives of Caesar Rodney, George Read, and Thomas McKean.
The program continues with the premiere of Caesar Rodney’s Ride: The Story of Delawareans and the Declaration of Independence, presented by the Delaware Heritage Commission. The one-hour documentary highlights Rodney’s legendary journey and Delaware’s pivotal role in the fight for independence.
